We are pleased to be able to invite you to the 2024 Aotearoa NZ Chapter Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology.

This year’s conference will be held between the 15 – 17 November at Novotel Tainui, Hamilton, and will include a conference dinner on the evening of the 16th.

We are looking forward to meeting in-person and welcome all members of our wider renal multidisciplinary team including nursing staff, dietitians, trainees and nephrologists across the country.

Sunday’s programme will be targeted towards trainees however will be open to all interested parties. We are excited to reintroduce the prestigious Bruce Morrison Award after a hiatus in 2023 and will be opening this year’s submissions to NZ Trainee Projects from 2023 and 2024.

We look forward to hosting and entertaining you in the Mighty Waikato.

Bruce Morrison Award

The Bruce Morrison Award is awarded to the renal trainee that delivers the best research, audit, clinical case(s) or similar renal relevant topic.

This prestigious award will be awarded to the presenter with the best topic, content, thought, discussion, and presentation. Dr Bruce Morrison was a co-founder of renal medicine in Aotearoa New Zealand, working in Wellington Renal Unit. This award is made in honour of the late Dr Bruce Morrison for his outstanding contribution to Nephrology in Aotearoa New Zealand.

New Zealand Renal Trainees are encouraged to present at this year’s NZ Chapter meeting in Hamilton.

Trainees are required to submit an abstract of no more than 250 words to be considered for the award. The top ranked abstracts will be included in the program and will be required to present a short oral presentation including questions and discussion with the session chair. Abstracts not selected for inclusion in the program will be offered a display poster at the meeting.

AWARD PRIZE
The award prize is $500 cash.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be a financial member of the ANZSN at the date of abstract closing.
Applicants must have been working as a RACP Nephrology Advanced Trainee in 2023 or 2024.
Only those award applicants who attend the ANZSN Aotearoa New Zealand Chapter Meeting and, if shortlisted, make an oral presentation at the dedicated Bruce Morrison Award session, will be considered eligible for the Award.
