The ANZSN Council, Scientific Program and Awards Committee (SPARC) and Local Organising Committee (LOC) warmly invite you to Meanjin (Brisbane) for the 61st ANZSN Congress. We acknowledge and deeply respect the Turrbul and Jagera people as the Traditional Owners of this land and thank them for allowing us to meet on their Country. We also pay our respects to their Communities and Elders, past, present and emerging.  

The theme for this year’s Congress is “Integrated Kidney Care Across the Lifespan” embodying the interconnected roles that medicine, allied health and research play in the management of acute and chronic kidney disease across life transitions. Our program will explore facets of kidney care through the prisms of discovery and clinical sciences, health services, emerging technologies, equity and diversity. An integral part of the program is our consumer partners who are involved from congress organisation through to presentations. Their contribution ensures our care is delivered in a meaningful and compassionate way. 

We are delighted to announce an exciting line up of speakers including Professor Victor Puelles, Professor Connie Rhee and Professor Richard Lafayette. The depth and breadth of their experience will greatly enrich our conversations and encourage us to better support our patients throughout their kidney journey.  

Brisbane is buzzing with excitement as the city prepares for the 2032 Olympics. The conference venue located on the southbank of the Brisbane River is the perfect launch pad to enjoy the vibrant ‘Brisvegas’ subtropical lifestyle. This includes riverside cafes, rooftop bars, cultural precinct, (for the neph juniors Bluey’s world!), iconic river ferries and boardwalks, beaches and national parks all within reach.  We encourage you to relax and enjoy all our city has to offer. • Annual Scientific Congress to bring clinicians and researchers together to share new knowledge and ideas
• Awards program to foster, support and recognise research excellence in the prevention and treatment of kidney disease
• Travel Awards program to enable clinicians and researchers to attend scientific meetings in Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and overseas
• Funding support to the Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology for the production of the Nephrology Journal

Education

• Basic, Advanced and Update programs provide support to clinicians undertaking advanced training in nephrology and continuing medical education
• Advice on the educational content of the Haemodialysis Academy and the Peritoneal Dialysis Academy
• Supporting the Kidney School which provides access to lectures and webinars on nephrology

Clinical Care

• The Dialysis, Transplantation and Nephrology Workshop to provide forums for the exchange of knowledge on contemporary best practice
• Provision of advice and guidance to government, research partners, affiliated organisations and others on the development of patient care guidelines and quality indicators, particularly in the area of dialysis care
• Provision of regional education, training and advocacy to improve access to care and education for patients and clinicians in developing countries
