Professor Richard Kitching
Richard Kitching is an academic nephrologist and NHMRC Investigator Research Fellow, with an interest in immune kidney disease. He works in the Monash Health Vasculitis Clinic and in the Monash Lupus Clinic. In 2018 he and colleagues founded ANZVASC, a patient facing multidisciplinary professional society to improve vasculitis education, research and care. He established the ANZVASC Quality and Disease Registry in 2024.
He serves on the Editorial Boards of ASN Journals and Kidney Int, and in the past as Chair, ANZSN Scientific Program and Education Committee and Co-chair, ANZSN Research Advisory Committee. He led the definitive review of ANCA-associated vasculitis (Nat Rev Dis Primers, 2020). His fundamental and early translational research in immune kidney disease includes publications in Nature, Nature Med, Nature Rev Immunol, Nature Comms, Lancet Rheumatol, JASN, Kidney Int, PNAS and JCI.
