ASM Consumer Workshop for Nephrologists: Kia Kotahi Partnership in Design – Te Tiriti influenced co-design for genuine engagement

Designed by CCN, Kia Kotahi Partnership in Design is a flexible, six-step, values-based framework which ensures that people and their whānau are at the centre of (re)designing equitable health & wellbeing services in a genuine and purposeful partnership. Its foundations lie in upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi, in addition to local and international co-design methods. The real strength of Kia Kotahi is that it is a partnership model of design, rather than consultation.

Koral believes that one of the many advantages of this framework is the ability for community, providers, and funders to be both learners and experts in their own right, particularly during the whai whakaaro (mindful listening and learning) and wawata (dreaming) stages.

Join us to learn more about utilising this framework for engagement with consumers, examples of how it is being applied and implications for its broader use.
