Ella Wilkins
Ms Ella Wilkins is a genetic counsellor with a special interest in genetic kidney disease. She completed a Master of Genetic Counselling in 2013, having previously worked as a laboratory scientist in human genetics. Ella is employed by Victorian Clinical Genetics Services and has coordinated The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Renal Genetics Clinic since its inception in 2016. In 2023/24 Ella has supported paediatric nephrologists at RCH to embed diagnostic genetic testing in general nephrology care. She is a member of KidGen (www.kidgen.org.au) and is passionate about empowering patients and families with genetic kidney disease. Ella supervises genetic counselling students on clinical placements, provides individual supervision to associate genetic counsellors and is on the certification subcommittee of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia Board of Censors for Genetic Counselling. Ella also provides genetic counselling in general paediatric and adult genetics clinics in the Northern Territory.
