The evolution of tissue typing techniques has improved the immunological precision with which donors and recipients are matched, allowing for decreased risk of early and late allograft rejection and improved graft survival. This talk will cover the concepts of the complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) crossmatch, flow crossmatch and virtual crossmatch, as well as anti-HLA antibody assessment techniques.
