Attending the ANZSN Congress with Children

ANZSN is committed to supporting members balancing professional responsibilities with family life. To help make your Congress experience more accessible, we’re offering the following options for delegates attending with children:

Childcare Grant

A limited Childcare Grant is available to assist members with the additional costs of caring for young children during the Congress.

If you are bringing children aged 0–5, you may claim up to $100 per child, per day for approved childcare expenses on Congress days (Saturday 30 August to Wednesday 3 September). Childcare Grant funding is only available for the days you are registered to attend the Congress. This can include services such as nanny hire or extended daycare hours.

Grants are limited and available only to registered members. To be eligible, you must register by 10 August 2025.

Parents Room at the Venue

An unstaffed Parents Room will be available onsite from Saturday 30 August to Wednesday 3 September, 07:30–17:30. This quiet, comfortable space is intended for use by parents with young children and will be equipped with basic furniture, water, and a TV.

A live stream of the Plenary Room will be available during the Scientific Meeting.

Children at the Congress

Children are welcome in Congress sessions, during catering breaks, and at social events, including the Gala Dinner. However, all children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times, and care should be taken to avoid disruption to other delegates.

Gala Dinner (Tuesday)

Delegates are welcome to bring children to the Gala Dinner at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. Please note that this is a formal event featuring speeches and entertainment and may be loud at times.

• Infants in prams (no seat or meal required): free of charge

• Children and teenagers (up to 18 years) requiring a seat and meal: $90 per head
