Biography:
Dr. Chow is the Chief of Service in the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, Prince of Wales Hospital. Dr. Chow previously obtained the Croucher Foundation Fellowship and had worked in the Artificial Cells and Organs Research Centre at McGill University, Montreal. Dr. Chow has combined his position as nephrologist with that of honorary teaching staff in the Prince of Wales Hospital. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Hong Kong Society of Nephrology, and previous President of the Hong Kong Society of Transplantation. Currently, he serves as the Honorary Treasurer for the International Association of Chinese Nephrologists.
He is actively involved in student teaching, and has received numerous education award of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, including the Alumni Teaching Award from the Faculty of Medicine in 2023.
Dr. Chow has led the writing team for both ISPD 2022 peritonitis guideline and 2023 peritoneal dialysis catheter related infection guideline. He has published more than 300 indexed publications in peer review journals, over 110 of them being the first author. As of April 2024, his H-index is 54.
