We understand conference attendance is an important part of your professional career and the 61st Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology local organising committee supports the needs of working and professional parents. Parents with small children and infants are welcome to bring them along to the Scientific Meeting as required to facilitate the attendance of our members from all stages in life.
An unstaffed parenting room will be available at the conference venue for parents with children to utilise while onsite at the Congress from Monday 31 August 2026 to Wednesday 2 September 2026 0730-1730. This room will be set up with basic furniture, TV and water and is designed for parents attending the Congress with a child to use as a quiet place away from the busier meeting areas. Please note, while children of delegates are welcome at the Congress during sessions and catering breaks it is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to supervise and ensure other delegates participation is not unduly disrupted.
The Gala Dinner will be held on the evening of Tuesday 1 September 2026. Delegates are more than welcome to bring children along with them. Please be aware it is a formal dinner with speeches and entertainment and may be a little loud. Infants in prams (no seat or meal required) may attend at no cost. Children/teenagers up to 18 years (seat and meal required). Please contact the Congress Secretariat at genevievet@icmsaust.com.au to arrange a ticket.

ANZSN has approved limited funds to subsidise parents requiring additional paid childcare during the Congress. For children 0-5 years delegates may receive up to $100 per day, per child. The funding may be used to assist an additional carer to attend, additional childcare days at home or other child related costs incurred to allow parents to attend the Congress This funding is limited and only open to members so please confirm early by registering ASAP. The application form for the childcare subsidy can be found in the registration form, otherwise please contact the Congress Secretariat at genevievet@icmsaust.com.au to receive the application form.
